Commonly known as deodar, this species of cedarwood is native to the Himalayan region. The oil is made by steam distilling stumps and roots from unused or fallen trees only. Thats right, no cedar tree is cut in the entire region, to preserve the species.
Cedarwood oil has excellent deodorising and insect repellent properties. It also has astringent, calming, antiseptic and decongestant properties.
